  1. Residence, curate and lecturer: I reside in the City of Exeter, but not in my Parish, there being no Parsonage-House. I have no Lecturer.

  2. Other benefices: I have only one Benefice but likewise serve the Living of St. Mary Steps, the adjoining Parish, under Sequestration granted to me by the late Bishop.

  3. Divine service at other churches: I do not perform Divine Service at any Church besides my own but I read Prayers & preach once every Sunday at the High-Goal for ye County of Devon, & read Prayers <there> twice in the Week besides.

  4. Frequency of divine service: I have one Sermon at St Edmund's & one at St. M. Steps every Sunday, & Prayers every Wednesday at St. Edmunds & every Saturday at St. M Steps & on all Saints Days at one or other of them.

  5. Frequency of communion: I have a Sacrament every Month,* & on ye three Great Festivals besides. There are about 40 Communicants.

  6. Catechising of children: I give Notice that I will catechize them every Saturday during the Summer, but for two or three years last past none have attended.

  7. Church fabric: The Church & all Things belonging to it are in good order. No Churchyard.

  8. Glebe terrier: There are no Glebe Lands nor Houses belonging to the Rectory.

  9. Number of families: About 200.

  10. Chapels: There is no Chapel within the Parish.

  11. Papists, dissenters and meeting houses: Only one Family of reputed Papists, consisting of three or four <Persons> {reputed Papists}, resides in ye Parish. No Meeting House.

  12. School, alms-houses, hospital and charitable endowments: There are 3 Alms-Houses in ye Parish, which the Parishioners repair at their own expence. No other charitable Endowment nor Parochial Library.

  13. Charity: An Account is annexed of all the Lands & other Benefactions for pious & charitable uses, which are under the Care & Direction of Feoffees, & are properly applied.

    Priest's orders and institution: My Institution is dated March 21st 1763, and my Priest's Orders Octr. 28th 1758.

    St. Edmund's upon the Bridge

    Three Alms=Houses on Ex-Bridge for three Poor People of the Parish, but not endowed.

    The Clear Income of a Field on Topsham Way to Six Poor Inhabitants of the said Parish given by Mrs Leach, now let at £12 13.

    An Annuity of 4 Pounds given by John Gubbs Esqr out of his Lands in ye said Parish, which is distributed weekly in Bread.

    20/ a year out of the Lands of late Prowse distributed in Bread

    10/ a year out of the Lands of Ford distributed in Bread.

    A House let at £10 a year for the Repair of the Church.

    Conventionary Rents of the Lands of the said Parish for the Repairs of the Church... £20 11s 0d a year.
